Experiential education for social inclusion

W dniach 27.02-6.03.2017, w Białce Tatrzańskiej, odbył się niezwykły kurs “Experiential education for social inclusion“, który zgromadził trenerów i liderów młodzieżowych z 8 krajów. Organizacją goszczącą kurs była nasza fundacja. Całość została sfinansowana ze środków Erasmus+.

W ciągu 7 kursowych dni, uczestnicy wzięli udział w szeregu ćwiczeń i gier outdoorowych oraz wycieczce w zimowe Tatry, która była dla nas nie lada wyczynem. Oto pełna relacja:

Training course “Experiential education for social inclusion” was held in Poland, Bialka Tatrzanska between 27th of February and 6th of March 2017. Project dedicated for youth workers, educators and trainers, was based on experiential learning, outdoor education and coaching approach in order to discover and develop possibilities of youth social inclusion.

The main aim was to present different methods of work and activities with youth and young adults, in order to support their personal and social development, especially encouraging those with less opportunities.

Within training, participants experienced outdoor, coaching methods, as well had theoretical input, developed their knowledge in order to support young people with fewer opportunities in the development of leadership skills and communication skills, as well as group work, further expanding comfort zone and learning proactive attitudes in the community and renewing contact with nature.
18 participants from Poland, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Greece, Estonia, Germany and Slovakia, shared their good practices, prepared and implement samples of activities for youth inclusion using experiential education methodology.

 

As result of training course and work of participants and partner organization we prepared guidebook for educators and youth workers, which include several practical information for youth work, educational scenarios and as well set of activities, which were described and implemented by participants themselves.

Dissemination part started right after training course, all participants in small groups prepared scenarios and activities for youngsters and implemented them in their countries. In total there were over 400 participants of 10 local workshops held in Poland, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Portugal, Estonia, Greece and Spain. Participant were kids, youngsters, students, educators, teachers.
Each of organization was also responsible for sharing good practices and guidebook among their network.

Goals: team building, common language, active listening, outdoor strategies, gender equality and skills development, communication and resolving conflicts;

2. Fahren, Germany (16.03.2017), 17 participants
Goals: teambuilding, developing communication skills, increasing awareness cultural and personal differences, inclusion and equality, emotional intelligence;

3. Thessaloniki, Greece (24.04.2017), 25 participants
Goals: learning the importance of communication and cooperation inside a group of people; understanding the tools and skills needed for teamwork, focusing on communication, self-expression and active listening;

4. Guadalajara, Spain (18.04.2017), 70 participants
Goal: social inclusion of youngsters;

5. Almada, Portugal, (09.04.2017), 24 participants
Goals: social inclusion, outdoor education, experiential education and self-development, communication, self-awareness, self-development, group dynamic, team-building, improvisation, concentration, individual and group reflection;

6. Hiiumaa, Estonia, (3-7.07.2017), 28 participants
Goals: finding common interests, creating trustful environment for communication and social inclusion;

7. Milan, Italy (29.03.2017), 51 participants (teachers)
Goals: experiential learning, understanding the group dynamics, providing tools and activities easily replicable at school, experiencing the Role-Inversion (teacher-student);

8. Bratislava, Slovakia (25.06.2017), 12 participants
Goals: increasing creativity in a group, social inclusion;

9. Warsaw, Poland (20.03-25.04.2017), 250 participants
Goals: cooperation, building sense of belonging to the group, active listening, discovering strengths and potential of the individuals in the group; conflicts resolving, communication and effective teamwork

10. Wrocław, Poland (07.05.2017), 12 participants
Goals: cooperation, volunteer’s skills development, building sense of belonging to the group, project and initiatives planning;
